Background History

Brendaley Cadette was born in January 1965 in Kensington, West London, into a life full of challenges from the very start.

Born with heart failure and haemangioma—a condition that caused facial disfigurement due to a benign tumour during infancy—her early days were filled with uncertainty. Some doctors doubted whether she would survive beyond her time in the hospital.

As part of a Roman Catholic family, Brendaley was baptised soon after birth, with her godparents—a doctor and a nurse—reflecting the level of medical care she needed at that time. She spent the first ten months of her life in hospital, but against all odds, she not only survived but thrived.

Looking back, Brendaley believes her journey shows she is here for a purpose (Proverbs 16:4 – “The LORD has made everything for its purpose”).

Her early experiences of resilience and strength have shaped her life’s mission: to support and uplift others facing their own struggles.
